MAY 30.82, this lamp was patented by Henry F. Pearce of Hyde Park, PA as patent No. 258,802, filed April 6, 1882 and awarded May 30, 1882; the primary claim of the patent had to do with the domed lid which was designed to contain any fuel without leaking, NOS condition
